How to be a Messages Hero using the Comic Book filter

I'm not a fan of over-filtered photos that bring out gaudy colors or make otherwise nice images look like a neo Van Gogh. But I'm happy to have a little fun with them. One of the best is the Comic Book filter that's only available through the Messages app on the iPhone. There's a color version and another for black and white. 

To use the Comic Book filter, start a new message to anyone and touch the camera icon to launch the camera. Then touch the star icon in the lower left corner of the camera screen to get back to the filter bar in Messages. Comic Color and Comic Mono are the second and third filters in the bar. Once selected, you can close the filter bar and take your selfie. It's the totally easiest way to look like a comic book hero. 

If Comic Book filters worked just for selfies, that would be cool enough. But they also work for the back side camera AND for video. Just think about the possibilites!!!

But that's not all! You can choose your Library instead of the camera and apply the filters there too. 

Really, this filter is too good for kids. But I can see it as a welcome diversion on those long, boring afternoons when the little ones have had too much social distancing and need to express themselves. 

Then YOU can be a real life hero.
